Meet Lauren Barber, the dedicated Speech Pathologist from Newcastle, NSW.
Lauren graduated with Honours from the University of Newcastle after five years of study and has been practicing as a Speech Pathologist since 2021.
Growing up in a rural area where healthcare access was limited, Lauren quickly became familiar with the challenges of not having the support that is needed and the significant role communication plays in quality of life. This inspired her to pursue a career in Speech Pathology and help families access the support she herself once lacked. Her personal experiences drive her to be the best Speech Pathologist she can be, unlocking her clients’ potential through compassionate and holistic care.
Lauren is particularly passionate about neurodiverse-affirming practice, Gestalt Language Processing (GLP) therapy, AAC, social communication, and literacy. She has completed training in Sounds Write, Read3, Shape Coding, and GLP (Meaningful Speech) to deepen her knowledge.
