Meet Brieta, a warm and experienced Speech Pathologist based in Newcastle, NSW. Brieta graduated from the University of Newcastle in 2010 and brings a wealth of knowledge from her diverse career, spanning hospital settings, community health, telehealth, and leadership roles.
Her journey includes mixed health settings, including working extensively in ICU and tracheostomy care, and working seven years at a hospital where she progressed to Senior Speech Pathologist and Head of Department. More recently, Brieta has spent over three years working via telehealth with both adult and paediatric clients, supporting a wide range of needs.
Brieta is most passionate about adult neuro rehab, swallowing, communication, and mentoring others through training and supervision. She also works closely with adolescents – supporting communication, social skills, academic achievement, emotional regulation, and confidence-building. Her approach is deeply person-centred, with a strong focus on wellbeing and family involvement.
She’s completed FIM training and has a particular interest in adding Auslan, Sounds Write, and MIDGAS to her toolkit.
