In her late 20s, Anna became interested in Speech Pathology as a result of seeing positive results of Speech Pathology intervention for two relatives. She gained her Bachelor of Science – Human Communication Science (Speech Pathology ) at Curtin University of Technology (Western Australia) in 2007. Anna then moved to regional Queensland with her young family in 2008.
Before joining the Pop Family, Anna worked for large public organisations and has seen the incredible benefits of providing telehealth services. Living regionally herself, Anna understands the barriers to accessing health services and she’s excited to provide services to those who may otherwise have had difficulty accessing Speech Pathology.
Anna has a passion for people and optimising participation in their activities and life. Anna has a broad range of clinical experience and knowledge. She has a particular interest in the areas of early intervention, voice (e.g. dysphonia), chronic cough/laryngeal hypersensitivity, and vocal cord dysfunction.
Anna loves to repurpose items she finds at garage sales and the local council ‘tip shop’. She also gets immense satisfaction and relaxation from gardening. And whilst Anna reports building up a sweat gardening in the Queensland weather, she has to be persuaded to come inside long after the sun has set.
