"I've always had a strong passion for communication rights and a belief that everyone deserves to have a voice and be heard."
~ Amelie

Amelie could think of so many reasons to become a speech pathologist, but one of the biggest was seeing firsthand the incredible impact a fantastic speechie had on a close family friend while she was growing up. She’s also always had a strong passion for communication rights, and a belief that everyone deserves to have a voice and be heard.

Amelie completed her Bachelor’s degree with Honours at the end of 2023 at Flinders University in Adelaide. She grew up in Adelaide, South Australia, and is moving to Tasmania in the new year, so she’s just as happy being introduced as either an Adelaide or a Tasmanian speechie.

Amelie loves communication in all its forms, with particular interests in literacy, fluency, language, AAC and speech. She’s completed professional development across each of these areas, and rather than settling into one narrow specialty early on, she’s deliberately kept her focus broad while she figures out where she wants to go deepest. It’s an approach that fits her belief that communication support should never be one-size-fits-all, and that every client deserves an approach built around them.

Things Amelie loves:
🍰 Cakes and all things dessert
☕ Markets and coffee shops
🐶 Walks with her puppy, Josie
