Montana was born and raised in Geelong, and has lived there her entire life. She comes from an Italian background, with all four Grandparents being born in Italy and coming to Australia early on in their adult lives.ย
Montana studied at Australian Catholic University in Melbourne, and graduated at the end of 2020. When she was studying, Montana worked as a Therapy Assistant supporting Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists to carry out their programs for their participants, which was such a great learning experience as a student.ย
Montana originally wanted to go into Psychology, but after a 10 minute conversation with her neighbour’s Speech Therapist, Montana knew this is what she wanted to do. Montana is so passionate about communication being a basic human right, and everyone can have the ability to form connections with others no matter how we communicate, as well as access education and learn, so she knew this was the job for her.ย
Montanaโs interest areas are broad, but for now, she likes it that way. She takes a special interest in Speech, Language, Literacy, Orofacial Myology and particularly, Social Communication. Montana is really passionate about supporting the Neurodiverse community, and being an advocate for her clients and supporting them to explore their values, passions and to find their voice and confidence. She is glad to be in contact with colleagues and clients who can teach her about their neurodiversity, so she can become a better support each and every day.ย ย
Prior to starting at Pop, Montana worked in the community health sector, as well as private practice.ย
In her spare time, Montana enjoys spending time with friends and family. She has love for cooking as much food as she can from scratch, and shares her cooking with those close to her. Montana also enjoys painting, reading and singing.ย
Pop acknowledges and pays respect to the past and present Traditional Custodians and Elders of this nation and the continuation of cultural, spiritual and educational practices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
