Growing up in rural New South Wales, Josie witnessed first-hand how difficult it was to access quality and consistent healthcare. It wasnโt until she had a family member require speech pathology, that she learnt more about the diverse caseload a speech pathologist could have. This is when Josie realised the demand for allied health services in rural areas and she went on to complete a Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Honours) at the University of Newcastle.
Since the completion of her studies, Josie has been working and living in rural NSW as a generalist speech pathologist. Josie has experience working with people of all ages and is passionate about tailoring a client-centred approach that is perfect for every individual.ย ย ย ย
Outside of work Josie works closely with Speech Pathology Australia to support, develop resources and organise networking events for speech pathologists in regional, rural and remote areas.ย ย
But, itโs not all about speech pathologyโฆ Josie also loves getting involved with a community event, finding a new camping spot or hanging out with her partner and their three doggos.
