Jordon grew up in Dubbo (Western NSW), with a big family before studying her Speech Pathology degree at Charles Sturt University in Albury/Wodonga. Eventually, setting roots down in Orange (Central West NSW). Jordon has ventured on many work experiences in cities and abroad in the United Kingdom however has a love for the country where she believes her heart belongs.
Jordon was first drawn to the field of Speech Pathology after having a sibling who attended a Speech Pathologist for stuttering and later in highschool attending a work placement at a rehabilitation hospital, observing adults who had had a stroke affecting their communication and eating/drinking. She found it fascinating how the brain repaired and gave hope to people in having quality of life. The therapy games were also so much fun! Jordon remembers playing โGuess Who?โ on her first day and thinking this is way too much fun!
Jordon has particular interests in Early Intervention, Autism, Dysphagia management and voice treatments (LSVT LOUD). She has formal training in LSVT LOUD where she can provide treatment to individuals having Parkinsonโs Disease or a neurological condition who have voice difficulties. Jordon has had many other experiences with her most recent in the disability sector where she had a wide variety of clients providing interventions in; swallowing, speech/language disorders, social skills, low and high tech Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) and literacy.
When Jordonโs not working you will find her busy keeping active with her 2 little girls in the park or at the pool, cooking up a storm with her husband and keeping her Labrador from getting into the veggie garden! With time to herself Jordon loves taking trips, cooking, eating!, hiking and simply laying in the sun.
Pop acknowledges and pays respect to the past and present Traditional Custodians and Elders of this nation and the continuation of cultural, spiritual and educational practices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
