Audrey is a Brisbane based speech pathologist passionate about early intervention and early childhood communication. Audrey grew up in Coominya, a rural town in the Somerset region of Queensland. She moved to Brisbane in early 2015 to complete her undergraduate degree in Nutrition and Exercise Sciences followed by a Master of Speech Pathology Studies at the University of Queensland.ย ย
With previous experience in a private practice providing therapy to children with a range of presentations in areas such as speech, language, AAC, literacy and social communication in both face-to-face and telehealth settings, Audrey took a keen interest in telehealth and the benefit it provides to the community. Using her experience of growing up rurally, Audrey strives to provide quality health care services and can appreciate and understand the difficulties clients face when seeking and accessing health services in a rural area. Audrey is passionate about providing therapy through telehealth as it allows for equal access to services despite geographical challenges and it allows her to connect with others all around Australia.ย
The key elements of Audrey’s practice are focused on early intervention, tailored programs, family participation and positive client outcomes. These are core principles that Audrey reflects in her practice. She believes that therapy should be tailored to suit each individual’s needs and take a client and family-centred approach. Audrey is passionate about working with individuals and families to gain skills and confidence in all areas of communication. She has a keen interest in early childhood development, social communication and Orofacial Myology.
When she is not working, Audrey enjoys catching up with friends at cafes and trying out new crafts and hobbies. She is currently learning crocheting and would love to learn pottery in the near future!
