Meet Abbey, the vibrant Speechie from Sydney, NSW. Abbey has been practicing speech pathology since 2021 after she graduated with her Bachelor of Speech Pathology from Australian Catholic University.
Drawn to both teaching and healthcare, Abbey found her perfect blend in speech therapy. Her passion for helping others was evident even in high school when she tutored younger students with literacy difficulties. Since becoming a speech pathologist, Abbey has worked with dozens of children and families with various communication needs and in various locations, including at home or school. During this time, she has also completed the Meaningful Speech’s Gestalt Language Processing online program to further her skills.
Abbey’s clinical interests include language, literacy, early intervention, written expression, and she aspires to learn more about paediatric feeding difficulties.
When she’s not at work, you may find Abbey cuddling up with her cat, Spirit, or out with her husband Dave playing football or futsal, kayaking, or relaxing at the beach.
